First Non-Toyota Head For Daihatsu “Masanori Mitsui”

Daihatsu Motor  has named Masanori Mitsui as the next president and he will be the first Non-Toyota chief in more than 20 years. This really can show the planning of Daihatsu Motor  the Mini car making unit of Toyota Motor Corp.

 62 Years old Mitsui is currently an executive Vice President and will replace Koichi Ina on upcoming June 2013.  Makoto Zenno, a spokesman of Daihatsu said that the last time Osaka, Japan based automaker wasn’t presided over by an ex-Toyota official in 1992.

Makoto Zenno also added that the parent company will be taking over the board of Daihatsu and 7 board members will be coming from Toyota. On the other hand Toyota’s spokesman Shino Yamada said that automaker isn’t in a position to make comments on the appointments as Daihatsu is separate company.

According to Daihatsu, Ina will be succeeding Katsuhiko Okumura as chairman and Okumura will become an adviser. Ina will succeed Katsuhiko Okumura as chairman, with Okumura becoming an adviser, according to Daihatsu.
