Rate is a significant including aspect in car-crash fatalities, and so is red light working — some states have more scofflaws than others. In an attempt to control this dangerous activities, the National Coalition for More protected Roads and the Govt Street Control are assisting National Stop on Red One week (Aug. 4-10, 2013), an annually multistate system dedicated to security information and loyality.
The Insurance Organization for Street Protection opinions that red-light working is the top cause of town injuries, and the National Street Visitors Protection Control opinions that more than 8,700 people were killed in 4 way stop or intersection-related injuries during 2009. More than two-thirds of these fatalities are people, riders and other drivers who never saw the red light runner coming.
According to an IIHS research, red light working prices decrease significantly at traversing factors with cameras, but clearly there’s more work to be done. During National Stop on Red One week last year, more than 26,000 people in 15 states got red light photographic camera violations. The states with the most violators are:
- Florida (8,374 violations)
- NY (5,538 violations)
- Missouri (3,273 violations)
- Maryland (1,431 violations)
- Florida (1,354 violations)
